Matcha Reishi Ginger Clary-Sage Latte // Medicinal Herb & Mushroom Soap

I created this bar for an invigorating, anti-aging and luxurious experience. I LOVE matcha and drink it every day! I wanted to bring the beautiful and relaxing drinking experience to a soap bar, and here it is. Matcha is obviously the core ingredient, but not to be outdone I've added powdered reishi mushrooms, ginger, goat's milk, and clary-sage to balance out this gorgeous bar.

Why mushrooms in soap?! The reishi mushroom is a staple in my herbalism practice. It has high levels of polysaccharides, or molecules that help the skin retain moisture.

Beta-glucans, naturally occurring polysaccharides in the reishi mushroom, soothe dry and itchy skin. They penetrate multiple layers of skin, reaching areas that other ingredients cannot reach. The reishi mushroom also contains over 400 active compounds including antioxidants, Vitamin D and Vitamin B3. These compounds help fight free radical damage, improving the skin’s overall health. Thanks to a powerful blend of polysaccharides, vitamins and antioxidants, reishi mushrooms hydrate, soothe, calm and restore skin. *

Matcha is also very high in antioxidants and contains l-Theanine which is a stress reducing amino acid. I scented this soap with essential oil of Clary Sage to boost a sense of well-being.
